Conditions of membership

A Registration Form must be completed and signed for each child who is a member of Cardiff Woodcraft Folk. Attendance by a child at groupnights and events will be taken as acceptance by the parent/guardian concerned of the group’s policies and conditions.

Responsibility for the child.

Adults bringing children to group nights must remain with them until the Registered Adult Leaders in charge confirm that the meeting is taking place. Whilst every effort will be made for groups not to be cancelled failure to show of sufficient numbers of adults may mean this is unavoidable. Please check with the Registered Adult Leaders before leaving.

The adult collecting the child should be there at the finishing time of the meeting.

Subscriptions

An annual subscription of £10 (£5 unwaged) per family plus a weekly subscription of £2 per child per week has been decided as currently the lowest level possible to enable the group to run. This is subject to change. We would be grateful if parents would pay termly in advance.

Group management

The group of registered adult leaders meet regularly approximately once a term. Any parents wishing to become more involved are more than welcome, and should express their interest to one of the leaders.

Parents' rota

Parental involvement is an essential ingredient to all successful Woodcraft Folk Groups. All parents/guardians are expected as a condition of their child’s membership of the group to help at group nights once a term and to stay for at least the first 3 weeks when their child starts. Tasks include registering the children, collecting their subscriptions, leading games/activities or helping with drinks. Hopefully parents will enjoy their evenings and welcome the opportunity to see just what their children do at Woodcraft Folk.

Leaving the group

As we are now having to operate a waiting list for membership we urge parents to inform us if their child no longer wishes to attend, so that their place may be offered to another child. Unfortunately if a period of unexplained absence extends to 4 weeks we will assume that child has left.

Everyone involved in running Cardiff Woodcraft Folk is a volunteer.
